We left Ohio and have arrived in San Antonio. Marian drove the entire 1470 miles behind Kaitlin, Yowie (our bunny) and me in the 24' Budget truck. I think we averaged 48 miles per hour through Tennessee, and then once we hit the flatness of Arkansas we averaged 65 mph. Anyway, one week after arriving in San Antonio, we started to hear our Buick LeSabre make a clicking sound that did not sound good. I took it in and they told me that the engine was done!! So, we got a new car. But we calculated our miles per gallon on the trip down here. As a going away gift, our Buick gave us 30 mpg!! How selfless, even as it was dying, it was thinking more of us than itself!

Kiersten's First Birthday
April 12, we're only a month late posting this one. What adorable girls we have, and I'm not biased at all, it's a statement of fact!! Kiersten got a really cool little people toy set of animals for every letter of the alphabet--I really like it, she's learning to like it. Kiersten wasn't too excited about unwrapping the gift, thank heaven for older sisters, eh? Marian made her birthday cake from scratch, it took so long to make we didn't throw out the 11/12s of the remaining cake until we moved!
Officers Training

OK, so I got back from officers training in April, but here are some pictures finally. I had a great flight (group of 13 officer trainees). We spent most of our time in the classroom taking classes on leadership, history, and communications. The most fun I had was when we did our obstacle courses, ropes courses, and leadership reaction course. As much fun as it was, it's good to be back in the care of my loving wife and daughters. Enjoy the pics.

Going on a Walk
Kaitlin loves to run. She runs in circles at home or down the street as we go on walks. She says "hi" to all of the dogs and bikes we pass. And sometimes she even acknowledges the people accompanying them with a "hi, friend!" On our last walk, I don't think she stopped talking the whole 35 minutes. I wonder who she gets that from?!? (: She also loves to push Kiersten in the stroller. It's a pretty wild ride!
